YOSHIMURA SUPER RESPONSE CARBURETOR
The flat slide carburetor with the kit number 13200-33ERO are the crowning of the carburetor creation.

These gems were not possible to buy from Mikuni but only as a factory racing part from Yoshimura.
In order to classify them they could roughly be based on the Mikuni flat slides TDMR40, but with some remarkable differences.

The Kit-flat slide will offer better performance and improved throttle response compared to the normal TDMR40 or Keihin flat slide.

In some racing series (World Superbike or even in the World Endurance) the Kit-flat slide were used with a diameter of up to 42mm.

In the float chamber there are 2 Main jets. The fuel arrives not as usual between needle jet and jet needle into the air stream, but through very fine holes from the hollowed Yoshimura needle.
These holes have all different diameters and some with the diameter of a hair.
This ensures that gasoline is atomized extremely fine over the entire carburetor section!

This achieves a much better mixing of fuel and air and thus a more explosive mixture.

Jetting is at full load on main jet # 1 and at part load on main jet # 2.

The first main jet has an effect from about 11500 revolutions. Between 8500 and 11500 it shows that the second main jet has the most influence together with the needle position.

At very low slide opening the pilot air jet (PAJ) has an influence. This is an air nozzle, in other words the larger the diameter the leaner! This nozzle is located at the funnels, so on the front of the carburetor.

Here you will find three nozzles; the PAJ is the far right (direction of travel). The other two are normally only closed!!! The mean would be Main Air Jet 1 and the left is the Main Air Jet 2 Matching nozzle would be identical with the PAJ, that is the same part number. This could affect the mixture of the two main jets prob.

It is not easy to get tuned the kit-flat slide properly. The weather or temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, of course, also have a major impact.

In the state always it is advisable to go a bit fatter, since otherwise the machine to run very very bad when it gets a bit cooler times.

Idle speed I normally. Roughly at 2000 rev / min If it gets colder, they can start better with a bit lower speed. However, one must be able to handle after the start reasonable with the gas in the first minute, just a bit too much or too little and it is off again.

Default settings:

Main jet # 1: 125

(Main Jet 1)

Main Jet # 2: 70

(Main Jet 2)

Needle: In the fifth score of above

(Multiple Jet Nozzle)

Pilot jet: 25

(Jet Pilot)

Idle air jet: 120

(Pilot Air Jet)

Float height: 13 + -1 mm

(Float Height)

Synchronize the carburetors are just like the normal TDMR40. There are also on the Mikuni-page manual.

Finally, should still be said that the carbs are recommended only for an already "good" tuned engine. Only with reasonable timing or valve strokes can use the full potential of the carburetor. A matching airbox with the carburetors IN the airbox should be mandatory. Head revision and a good exhaust manifold are of course not wrong.

In particular, the timing should be set similar to the kit engine. Otherwise you will not cope with the needle.
In addition to the extra power and the better power delivery, the Kit-flat slide would already be worth it only because of the soundssceme. Simply incomparable sound.
The alone is woth the high purchase price.
