Der har siden november 2008 været en del snak i medierne om konsekvenserne for Sturup Raceway ved Malmø efter at ejerne af Banen blev erklæret konkurs i novemver. Da det er en af de mest populære baner for afholdelse af trackdays tæt på København, har mange naturligvis fulgt udviklingen med spænding. Tingene er nu faldet på plads og nye købere har vist sig, og sikret Sturup Raceway's fremtid. Nedennævnte pressemeddelelse som fastslår at alle arrangementer kører som planlagt er blevet udsendt til medierne.

Sturup Raceway 2009 Season is go!

Sturup, Sweden – March 12 2008 – With the thought that summer is just around the corner, Sturup Raceway are very happy to launch their 2009 season calendar.

The race season starts of with a bang with Svedala Motor Klubb hosting the first round of the 2009 Asphalt Cup Rally Championship on 15 March. Then in May, Sturup Raceway hosts the opening round of the ER Cup on 3 May, M.S.C.C. on 10 May and the Swedish Racerhistoriska Klubben on 22/23 May, which offers a great day out for all. With the M.S.C.C. return for a second visit on 22 August and the B.M.C. continuing with their annual tradition with their 12 September race, 2009 offers a chance to see some great racing up close.

To complement of race season, we have a busy track day season which offers drivers and riders alike a chance to try their own car or bike against the challenges of Sturup Raceway. Working with our partners, Svedala Motor Klubb (Cars), MCracing (6 Motorbike Trackdays), MS Racing (Cars), Sydskånes MC (Motorbikes) and Track Club Denmark (Cars), we are able to offer track day enthusiasts more than 30 events during 2009 where they can put their car or bike to the test.

“2009 is a year that we can look forward to, with not only races and track days but also company events happening at the circuit in 2009, we can’t wait for it to start!”, says Elton Goonan, Sturup Raceway’s Track Manager, “And we are also offering open events to the public, namely our popular Supercar Dash and Ultimate Driving Experience, so we have something for everyone.”
